A Maldivian Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration 8Q-IAK performing flight Q2-124 from Male to Fuvahmulah Island (Maldives), was on approach to Fuvahmulah Island when the aircraft experienced a problem with one of the engines, the crew shut the engine down. The aircraft flew through the extended runway centerline flying a right hand turn of 270 degrees to align with the runway and landed safely on runway 11.

The airline reported it was an engine problem though not a big problem. A team of engineers was sent to Fuvahmulah Island.

Passengers reported one of the propellers stopped turning just prior to the aircraft doing an unexpected turn. Emergency services were attending to the aircraft, that stopped at the end of the runway.
