A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration AP-BHX performing flight
PK-9753 from Islamabad (Pakistan) to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), was enroute at FL360 about to enter Iranian Airspace at Zahedan (Iran) when the crew decided to divert to Karachi due to a cracked side window in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely on Karachi's runway 07R about 65 minutes after the decision to divert.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 9 hours, then continued the journey and reached Riyadh with a delay of 10:45 hours.
The airline reported the cockpit side window was replaced and the aircraft released to service again.
