AA-6165 from Charlotte,NC to Mobile,AL (USA), was climbing out of Charlotte when the crew stopped the climb at about 17000 feet reporting they discovered a crack in their left side windshield and couldn't climb any higher. The aircraft returned to Charlotte for a safe landing on runway 18R about 55 minutes after departure.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2:10 hours, then departed again and reached Mobile with a delay of 3 hours.
