A Qatar Airways Boeing 777-200 freighter, registration A7-BFX performing freight flight QR-8152 from Panama City (Panama) to Maastricht (Netherlands), was climbing out of Panama's runway 03 when the crew detected an odour in the cockpit and suspected a bird strike. With all indications remaining normal however the crew decided to continue the flight to Maastricht, where the aircraft landed safely about 10 hours later.

A postflight inspection revealed the #1 engine had ingested a bird. The aircraft remained on the ground in Maastricht for about 7.5 hours, then continued the next sector to Doha (Qatar).
