A Republic Airways Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N418YX performing flight
AA-4945 from Miami,FL (USA) to Belize City (Belize), was enroute at FL300 over the Gulf of Mexico about 150nm northeast of Cancun (Mexico) when the crew initiated a descent to 10,000 feet MSL, turned around and returned to Miami where the aircraft landed safely about 70 minutes after leaving FL300.
A replacement ERJ-175 registration N440YX reached Belize with a delay of 3.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 42 hours after landing.
The Aviation Herald received information that the aircraft suffered problems with the bleed air.
