A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-EVS performing flight FR-3010 from Wroclaw (Poland) to Newcastle,EN (UK), was on approach to Newcastle when the aircraft was hit by lightning. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Newcastle's runway 25.

Passengers reported there was a huge flash of light, a loud bang and a plane shake upon landing in Newcastle.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered a lightning strike upon landing in Newcastle, the aircraft landed safely, all passengers disembarked normally. Engineers are inspecting the aircraft.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Newcaste on Dec 13th 2022.
