A S7 Sibir Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration VQ-BOA performing flight S7-2121 from Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) to Rostov-on-Don (Russia), was descending towards Rostov when the left hand engine (CFM56) failed and was shut down. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 23.
The Southern Transport Prosecutor Office performed an audit of compliance with safety legislation. There were no injuries as result of the emergency landing.
The aircraft is still on the ground about 9 hours after landing.
