A Skywest Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of United, registration N958SW performing flight UA-5094 from Denver,CO to Rock Springs,WY (USA) with 50 people on board, landed on Rock Springs' runway 27 at 21:36L (04:36Z Dec 28th), slowed down safely to taxi speed and was about to turn off the runway at the last exit when the aircraft skidded with its nose gear beyond the end of the runway. There were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft.

The NTSB have opened an investigation.

Sweetwater Sheriff Office reported the aircraft landed in black ice conditions.

On Dec 31st 2022 Skywest told The Aviation Herald: "SkyWest flight 5094, operating as United Express from Denver to Rock Springs, Wyoming, partially left the pavement as it turned onto the taxiway at a slow speed after landing at Rock Springs. All passengers safely deplaned and were bussed to the terminal." and further annotated: "it has not yet been determined what caused the aircraft to slip and is currently under investigation."
