A Smartwings Boeing 737-800, registration OK-TSO performing flight IZ-461 from Tel Aviv (Israel) to Berlin (Germany) with 179 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL360 about 180nm southeast of Prague (Czech Republic) when the crew observed erroneous pitch indications on their backup Attitude Direction Indicator (ADI) and consulted with maintenance. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Prague where the aircraft landed safely on runway 06.

Czechia's UZPLN reported in their quarterly bulletin the pitch indications oscillated between 8 and 28 degrees instead of the actual 3 degrees. The backup ADI was replaced and the aircraft released to service.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about one hour, then "hopped" to Berlin reaching a maximum FL200 and reached Berlin with a delay of about 90 minutes.
