A Spirit Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N512NK performing flight
NK-330 from New Orleans,LA to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) with 142 people on board, was enroute at FL360 when the captain instructed the flight attendants to be seated due to turbulence ahead. The fasten seat belt was illuminated, the cabin crew completed their tasks and took their seats. About 10 minutes later the aircraft encountered short moderate turbulence, the autopilot remained engaged. A flight attendant, seated without her seat belt fastened, was thrown upwards and hit her head on the ceiling before falling to the cabin floor. Passengers with medical background assisted the flight attendant. After landing the flight attendant was taken to a hospital, where she was diagnosed with a number 1 lumbar fracture. Two passengers received minor injuries.
