A Spirit Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N678NK performing flight NK-2143 from Atlanta,GA to Detroit,MI (USA), was on approach to Detroit's runway 22R when the aircraft received a bird strike. The aircraft continued landing and rolled out without further incident.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BIRD ON LANDING AND POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED BIRD WAS INGESTED INTO RIGHT ENGINE, DETROIT, MI." (engine V2533).

The aircraft remained on the ground in Detroit for about 2 hours, then departed for flight NK-565 to Atlanta.
