A Sun Express Boeing 737-800, registration TC-SPH performing flight XQ-1720 from Diyarbakir (Turkey) to Hanover (Germany), was on approach to Hanover's runway 27R when the crew stopped the descent at 3000 feet due to lack of indications that leading edge devices and flaps were moving, the flaps indication however moved. The crew assessed the situation, consulted with dispatch and maintenance, and subsequently declared PAN PAN advising they would land at high speed with flaps and slats up. The aircraft landed on Hanover's runway 27R at high speed (about 190 KIAS) about 40 minutes after stopping the descent at 3000 feet.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 27 hours before returning to service.
