A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-900, registration CS-TUA performing flight
TP-207 from Lisbon (Portugal) to Newark,NJ (USA), was enroute at FL390 over the Atlantic Ocean about 820nm west of Lisbon and about 220nm north of Ponta Delgada (Portugal) when the crew decided to return to Lisbon due to the captain's windshield developing cracks. The aircraft maintained FL390 for the return and landed safely on Lisbon's runway 03 about 2 hours after turning around.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Lisbon about 40 hours after landing back.
