A Tarco Aviation Boeing 737-300, registration C5-MAB performing a flight from Mogadishu (Somalia) to Massawa (Ethiopia), was accelerating for takeoff from Mogadishu's runway 23 when the crew rejected takeoff due to unusual noise and vibrations from the right hand engine (CFM56). The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.
On Jan 6th 2023 Somalia's AIB reported the #2 engine was found substantially damaged, the occurrence was rated an accident and is being investigated by Somalia's AIB.
