A TAROM Boeing 737-300, registration YR-BGD performing flight RO-6514 from Hurghada (Egypt) to Iasi (Romania), was enroute at FL340 over Turkey when the aircraft encountered moderate turbulence and at the same time one of the electrical generators failed. The crew activated the APU and continued to Iasi for a safe landing.
The airline upon entering Turkish Airspace the aircraft encountered moderate turbulence prompting the crew to illuminate the fasten seat belt signs. Subsequently one of the three generators on board showed a non-compliant indication, the crew activated the backup generator and the aircraft continued without further problems.
