An Air Transat Airbus A330-300, registration C-GTSD performing flight
TS-697 from Athens (Greece) to Toronto,ON (Canada), was climbing out of Athens' runway 03R when the crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet reporting a bird strike. The aircraft returned to Athens for a safe landing on runway 03R about 35 minutes after departure.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Athens about 5 days after landing back.
On Oct 13th 2022 the Canadian TSB reported the aircraft hit a flock of birds while accelerating through 100 KIAS during takeoff. Shortly after becoming airborne the crew noticed excessive vibrations on the #2 engine (Trent 772) prompting the crew to return to Athens. The TSB stated: "After inspection, maintenance found damage to both engines due to birds passing through engines' core."
