A United Airbus A319-100, registration N829UA performing flight
UA-2182 from Chicago O'Hare,IL to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 124 passengers and 6 crew, was on short final to La Guardia's runway 22 when a bird impacted the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 22.
The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BIRD WHILE ON SHORT FINAL RESULTING IN A DENT IN THE NOSE SECTION."
The aircraft remained on the ground in New York for about 20 hours before returning to service.
