A United Airbus A320-200, registration N433UA performing flight
UA-520 from Denver,CO to Sioux Falls,SD (USA), was climbing out of Denver's runway 34L when the crew declared Mayday reporting a compressor stall of the left hand engine (V2527). The aircraft levelled off at 10,000 feet and returned to Denver for a safe landing on runway 34L about 20 minutes after departure.
A replacement A320-200 registration N478UA reached Sioux Falls with a delay of about 3.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 39 hours before returning to service. The occurrence aircraft had another left hand engine compressor stall 3 days earlier, see Incident: United A320 at Newark on Nov 19th 2023, engine failure, had remained on the ground until Nov 22nd 2023, performed the positioning flight to New York La Guardia and subsequently UA-2388 to Denver without incidents before suffering the next occurrence.
