A United Boeing 737-700, registration N15751 performing flight UA-555 from Jacksonville,FL to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was on approach to Chicago's runway 28C when the aircraft sustained a lightning strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on the runway.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING WHILE LANDING AND POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED A SMALL HOLE ON RIGHT SIDE OF FUSELAGE, CHICAGO, IL."

The aircraft is still on the ground in Chicago about 16 hours after landing.
