A United Boeing 737-800, registration N77510 performing flight UA-1639 from Kahului,HI to San Francisco,CA (USA), was enroute at FL340 over the Pacific Ocean about 210nm northeast of Honolulu,HI (USA) when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft levelled off at 10,000 feet about 8 minutes later (average rate of descent 3000fpm) and diverted to Honolulu for a safe landing on runway 08R about 85 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
