A United Boeing 737-900, registration N30401 performing flight UA-1389 from Las Vegas,NV to Houston Intercontinental,TX (USA), was climbing out of Las Vegas' runway 26R when the crew stopped the climb at 10,000 feet reporting they had a gear configuration warning, a horn was sounding every second clearly audible on the frequency. The aircraft returned to Las Vegas for a safe landing on runway 26R about 55 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-900 registration N75410 reached Houston with a delay of about 7.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service after about 8 hours on the ground in Las Vegas.
