UA-1161 from Newark,NJ (USA) to Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), was enroute at FL340 about 130nm northeast of Houston,TX (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Houston Intercontinental Airport due to the failure of their weather radars. The aircraft landed safely on Intercontinental's runway 26R about 25 minutes after leaving FL340.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 80 minutes, then continued the flight and reached Puerto Vallarta with a delay of 2 hours.
