A United Boeing 777-200, registration N779UA performing flight
UA-1158 from Los Angeles,CA to Honolulu,HI (USA) with about 260 passengers and 10 crew, was climbing out of Los Angeles when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet reporting smoke on the flight deck. The aircraft returned to Los Angeles for a safe landing on runway 25L about 30 minutes after departure.
