A UPS United Parcel Service Boeing 747-8 freighter, registration N614UP performing flight
5X-2 from Cologne (Germany) to Hong Kong (China), was climbing out of Cologne's runway 14L when the crew stopped the climb at FL130, entered a hold and returned to Cologne for a safe landing on runway 14L about 80 minutes after departure.
A ground observer reported the nose gear doors had remained open.
