A Vietjet Airbus A320-200, registration VN-A655 performing flight
VJ-1875 from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) to Colombo (Sri Lanka) with 143 passengers and 9 crew, was enroute at FL340 over the Bay of Bengal about 230nm northeast of Chennai (India) when the crew decided to divert to Chennai reporting problems with one of the engines (CFM56). The aircraft landed safely on Chennai's runway 25 about 50 minutes later.
The Airport Authority reported one of the aircraft's engines failed.
