A Volotea Airbus A319-100, registration EC-NDG performing flight VOE-88JF from Toulouse (France) to Hamburg Finkenwerder (Germany), was enroute at FL380 about 40nm north of Stuttgart (Germany) when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft levelled off at FL100 about 6 minutes later (average rate of descent 4333fpm) and continued to Hamburg for a safe landing on Finkenwerder's runway 23 about an hour after leaving FL380.
The aircraft returned to service about 8 hours after landing.
