A Westjet Boeing 737-800, registration C-GWSR performing flight
WS-2419 from Cancun (Mexico) to Saskatoon,SK (Canada) with 171 people on board, was enroute at FL360 near Baton Rouge,LA (USA) when the crew received indication the airspeeds did disagree. The crew worked the related checklist and determined the captain's IAS was unreliable. The crew subsequently declared PAN PAN and requested to descend to FL340 and a block altitude due to turbulence, discussed the issues with maintenance. The first officer took control of the aircraft and continued to destination on stand by instruments. The aircraft landed safely in Saskatoon about 3.5 hours after declaring PAN PAN.
