An ABX Air Boeing 767-200 freighter, registration N650GT performing flight
GB-2042 from Cincinnati,KY to Milwaukee,WI (USA) with 2 crew, landed on Milwaukee's runway 19R when in the flare a number of sea gulls flew across the runway and impacted the aircraft. The aircraft touched down and rolled out without further incident.
The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO STRIKING SEVERAL SEAGULLS FLYING ACROSS THE RUNWAY AS ACFT WAS ABOUT TO TOUCHDOWN. POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED DAMAGE TO FAN BLADES OF RIGHT ENGINE" and stated the damage was minor.
The aircraft is still on the ground in Milwaukee about 56 hours after landing.
