An Airblue Airbus A321-200N, registration AP-BOD performing flight
PA-207 from Islamabad to Karachi (Pakistan) with 236 people on board, was climbing out of Islamabad's runway 28L when the crew stopped the climb at 8000 feet reporting the failure of their left hand engine (LEAP). The aircraft returned to Islamabad for a safe landing on runway 28L about 17 minutes after departure.
The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
On Nov 8th 2023 Pakistan's SIB reported the #1 engine failed about 12nm south of Islamabad prompting the crew to declare PAN PAN and return to Islamabad. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by Pakistan#s SIB.
