An Airbus Transport International Airbus A330-700 Beluga, registration F-GXLI performing flight BGA-123I from Saint Nazaire (France) to Hamburg Finkenwerder (Germany), was enroute at FL340 about 90nm southsouthwest of Amsterdam (Netherlands) when the crew initiated an emergency descent announcing to ATC "Emergency Descent!" The aircraft levelled off at FL100 about 7 minutes later (average rate of descent 3300 fpm). The crew subsequently decided to divert to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 18C about 35 minutes after leaving FL340.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam 27 hours after landing.
