An Airlink South Africa Embraer ERJ-190, registration ZS-YAH performing flight
4Z-482 from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Livingstone (Zambia), was climbing out of Johannesburg when the crew stopped the climb at FL220 and positioned to return to Johannesburg. The aircraft landed safely back on Johannesburg's runway 03R about 35 minutes after departure.
Ground observers reported the aircraft emitted strange sounds, the RAT had been deployed.
The aircraft returned to service about 25.5 hours after landing back.
