An Allegiant Airbus A320-200, registration N241NV performing flight
G4-875 from Punta Gorda,FL to Chicago Rockford,IL (USA) with 170 people on board, was on approach to Rockford's runway 01 when the crew initiated a missed approach at about 2500 feet MSL reporting a flaps issue. The crew requested to enter a hold for troubleshooting. The crew requested weather information for Rockford several times. About 30 minutes after initiating the missed approach the crew declared Mayday reporting the flaps were jammed with the slats still operating and requested runway 07. The aircraft landed safely on runway 07 at a slightly higher than normal speed about 45 minutes after the missed approach.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Rockford for 4 days, then positioned back to Punto Gorda but has not yet resumed service 5 days after the occurrence.
