An American Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N9010R performing flight
AA-3249 from Fort Lauderdale,FL to Washington National,DC (USA), was enroute at FL270 about 130nm south of Charlotte,NC (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Charlotte after both generators failed and the RAT deployed. The aircraft landed safely on Charlotte's runway 36C about 30 minutes later.
The NTSB reported they have opened an investigation into the occurrence rated an incident, both generators failed causing the RAT to deploy.
