An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N916AN performing flight AA-2715 from West Palm Beach,FL to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) with 100 passengers and 8 crew, landed on Chicago's runway 28C when the crew initiated a balked landing and went around. The aircraft positioned for a landing on runway 27C and landed without further incident about 15 minutes later.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A TAIL STRIKE WHILE LANDING." and rated the damage minor.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Chicago about 23 hours later and is currently estimated to return to service on Jun 9th 2024.
