AA-1641 from Miami,FL (USA) to Guatemala City (Guatemala), was climbing out of Miami's runway 08R when the crew stopped the climb at FL230. The crew declared PAN PAN reporting a loud noise outside the aircraft. The aircraft returned to Miami for a safe landing on runway 09 about 40 minutes after departure.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2.5 hours, thn departed again and reached Guatemala City with a delay of 2.5 hours.
