An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N762AN performing flight
AA-48 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was enroute at FL370 about 60nm south of Southbend,IN (USA) when a windshield cracked. The aircraft descended to FL270 and set course to New York, where the aircraft landed safely on JFK's runway 22R about 90 minutes later.
A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration N788AN reached Paris with a delay of about 2.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in New York about 19 hours after landing.
