An American Airlines Boeing 787-9, registration N840AN performing flight
AA-719 from Rome Fiumicino (Italy) to Philadelphia,PA (USA) with 281 passengers and 12 crew, was enroute at FL390 about 400nm northnortheast of Lajes, Azores Islands (Portugal) and about 840nm southwest of Dublin (Ireland) when the crew decided to divert to Dublin after a number of cabin crew were affected by an odour on board. The aircraft landed safely on Dublin's runway 28L about 2:05 hours later.
The airline reported the aircraft diverted to Dublin due to a reported odour on board and was met by Paramedics out of abundance of caution, who assessed the flight attendants and one passenger, all of them were released.
There are unconfirmed claims that 6 of the 9 flight attendants felt dizzy and ill in flight.
