An ANZ Air New Zealand Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration ZK-MVV performing flight NZ-5027 from Auckland to Napier (New Zealand), was descending towards Napier when the crew reported unknown fumes on board. Local emergency services were dispatched to the airport. The aircraft landed on runway 16, stopped and was evacuated. No injuries are being reported.

Emergency services reported they responded to a report of unknown fumes on board. After the aircraft had been evacuated fire fighters performed gas measurements but could not find anything unusual. The emergency services were stood down about 40 minutes after landing.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Napier about 10 hours after landing.
