An Austrian Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration OE-LAE performing flight OS-87 from Vienna (Austria) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was climbing out of Vienna's runway 29 when the crew could not retract the slats and stopped the climb initially at 10,000 feet. The aircraft entered a hold at FL160 and returned to Vienna for a safe landing on runway 34 about 75 minutes after departure.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered slat problems, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
