An Avianca Boeing 787-8, registration N785AV performing flight AV-17 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Medellin (Colombia), was climbing through FL270 when the captain's windshield cracked prompting the crew to return to Madrid, where the aircraft landed on runway 18R without further incident about 80 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The aircraft is still on the ground about 46 hours after landing back.
