An Azul Linhas Aereas Airbus A320-200N, registration PR-YRA performing flight
AD-4472 from Salvador,BA to Belo Horizonte,MG (Brazil) with 147 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Salvador's runway 10 when the crew stopped the climb at about FL240 after a smoke indication. The crew decided to return to Salvador for a safe landing on runway 10 about 30 minutes after departure.
Brazil's CENIPA, while reporting the occurrence rated an incident, does not mention the nature of the smoke indication (e.g. toilet, luggage compartment, ...).
The aircraft remained on the ground in Salvador for about 21 hours, then returned to service.
