An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer ERJ-195, registration PR-AUF performing flight
AD-4097 from Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont,RJ to Belo Horizonte,MG (Brazil) with 94 passengers and 5 crew, had been enroute at FL290 and had just started the descent into Belo Horizonte, when smell of smoke was detected on board shortly following by indication that pack 2 had failed. The crew worked the related checklists, declared PAN PAN, continued the approach to Belo Horizonte and landed safely on runway 16 about 20 minutes later.
Brazil's CENIPA reported the aircraft did not receive any damage, the occurrence was rated an incident.
