A Binter Canarias Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration EC-NGF performing flight
NT-212 from Las Palmas,CI to Fuerteventura,CI (Spain), was on approach to Fuerteventura when the crew stopped the descent at about 2500 feet, went around and entered a hold at 4000 feet. After holding for about 15 minutes the aircraft climbed to 8000 feet and returned to Las Palmas. The aircraft again entered a hold near Las Palmas. On approach to Las Palmas the crew needed to shut the right hand engine down and landed safely on runway 03R about 80 minutes after departure.
The flight was cancelled, the aircraft is still on the ground in Las Palmas about 11 hours after landing.
