A Condor Boeing 757-300, registration D-ABOL performing flight DE-1778 from Dusseldorf (Germany) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) with 266 passengers and 8 crew, had landed on Palma's runway 24L, taxied to the apron and had stopped in the parking position, engines were still running when a ground worker became exposed to the right hand engine's (RB211) exhaust stream and was thrown to the ground receiving serious injuries.

Spain's CIAIAC reported they have opened an investigation into the accident stating: "While the aircraft was parked on the apron, the flight coordinator of the ground handling company, who was performing tasks around the aircraft, was exposed to the jet of exhaust gases from engine no. 2, falling to the ground and being seriously injured."

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight with about one hour delay.
