A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-900, registration N429DX performing flight DL-273 from Lisbon (Portugal) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was climbing through about FL200 when the flight crew detected unusual odours in the cockpit and checked with cabin crew, that the odours were also present in the cabin. The flight crew donned their oxygen masks and returned to Lisbon for a safe landing on runway 02 about 45 minutes after departure.

Portugal's GPIAA reported: "maintenance personnel identified two
leaking ovens in the aft galley, which may explain the odours reported during the flight."

The aircraft returned to service about 26 hours after landing.
