A Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N3744F performing flight
DL-1593 from Memphis,TN to Salt Lake City,UT (USA), was enroute at FL400 about 130nm southeast of Wichita,KS (USA) when the crew initiated a descent to 10,000 feet due to cabin pressure problems, the aircraft levelled off at 10,000 feet about 9 minutes after leaving FL400 (average rate of descent 3333 fpm). The aircraft subsequently diverted to Wichita for a safe landing on runway 01L about 30 minutes after leaving FL400.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N386DA continued the flight and reached Salt Lake City with a delay of about 5 hours.
