EN-8731 from Dresden to Munich (Germany), was climbing out of Dresden's runway 04 when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet and returned to Dresden for a safe landing on runway 04 about 25 minutes after departure.
A replacement ERJ-195 registration I-ADJM reached Munich with a delay of about 2.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 3 days, then returned to service.
The airport reported the aircraft returned to Dresden due to a bird strike.
According to information The Aviation Herald received the aircraft sustained a bird strike into the left hand engine (CF34) at or just after rotation.
