An Eastern Australia de Havilland Dash 8-200 on behalf of Qantas, registration VH-TQX performing flight QF-2263 from Lord Howe Island,NS to Sydney,NS (Australia) with 28 people on board, was climbing out of Lord Howe Island when the crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet, shut one of the engines down and returned to Lord Howe Island for a safe landing about 45 minutes after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground at Lord Howe Island about 39 hours after landing back.
