An Easyjet Airbus A320-200, registration G-EJCV performing flight U2-6427 from London Gatwick,EN (UK) to Dubrovnik (Croatia), was climbing out of Gatwick's runway 26L when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet reporting a hydraulic failure. The aircraft entered a hold for about 30 minutes, then returned to Gatwick for a safe landing on runway 26L about 40 minutes after departure and taxied to the apron.

Passengers reported the flight deck was not sure about the landing gear and instructed them to brace for landing.

A replacement A320-200 registration G-EZWA reached Dubrovnik with a delay of 7.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Gatwick about 15 hours after landing.
