An Eva Air Boeing 777-300, registration B-16721 performing flight BR-271 from Taipei (Taiwan) to Manila (Philippines), was climbing through 12000 feet out of Taipei's runway 23L when the crew stopped the climb due to the cabin not pressurizing properly, the passenger oxygen masks deployed. The aircraft returned to Taipei for a safe landing on runway 23L about 45 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration B-16718 reached Manila with a delay of about 4.5 hours.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Taipei due to an abnormal cabin pressure signal.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service on Aug 12th 2025.
